Your child's iThinkers Olympiad journey, step by step
From registering at school to reading the final score report - here's exactly what happens at each stage, and what you and your child need to do.
Before the exam
Steps 1-91 How do I register - and can I pay online or offline?
Registration happens through your school. Once your school opts in, the coordinator will share the subjects on offer for your child's class and the fee for each.
- Online: pay via the school's dedicated fee collection link, or UPI, when shared by your coordinator.
- Offline: pay by cash or cheque directly to your school's exam coordinator, who issues a receipt.
Fees (2026 cycle): ₹200 per subject, or ₹500 for the EMS Bundle (English + Maths + Science - a saving of ₹100 over paying for the three individually).
2 Why should I follow the iThinkers WhatsApp channel?
The WhatsApp channel is the fastest way to hear about topic release announcements, practice portal updates, exam date reminders and result announcements - straight from iThinkers, no missed circulars.
Prefer a 1:1 chat instead? Message +91 96259 05959 on WhatsApp.
3 When is the admit card dispatched?
Admit cards are generated and dispatched to your school once fee collection and the student enrollment roster are fully complete on the school's end - shortly ahead of the exam window.
Your school coordinator will confirm the exact reporting date and time closer to the exam - please check with them directly.
4 What details appear on the admit card?
The admit card confirms your child's official registration and lists:
- Student name, class & section
- School name and school code
- Subject(s) registered for the exam
- Student Access Code (SAC ID)
5 What are the login ID and password shown on the admit card?
That's your child's SAC ID (Student Access Code) - it works as both the username and the password for the practice portal and the online result portal.
- First-time participants: the SAC ID field may be blank at registration - it's generated and shared along with the result.
- Returning students: the same SAC ID carries over year to year. Share last year's code with your school at enrollment so records stay linked.
6 How do I visit the Practice Portal?
Go to practice.ithinkersolympiad.com on a phone, tablet or computer, and log in with your child's SAC ID as both username and password.
You can also download the iThinkers Olympiad app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) to practice on the go.
The portal is complimentary for every registered student - there are no books to buy.
7 What happens when my child completes a practice set?
Each practice set gives instant feedback and scoring, and can be attempted multiple times - so your child builds confidence without the pressure of a real exam.
Parents can see progress from their own account, and the portal sends gentle reminders to keep practice on track.
8 Is new practice content added regularly?
Yes. New question sets and challenges are added to the portal on an ongoing basis across every subject, so it's worth checking back rather than treating it as a one-time practice test.
9 Where can we watch a video on filling the OMR sheet correctly?
Key rules to remember on exam day:
- Use a 2B pencil only - not HB or pen.
- Darken one full oval per question; multiple marks on one question are read as incorrect.
- Fill the SAC ID grid carefully - leave it blank only if this is your child's first-ever attempt.
- If the name is misprinted, fill the "Correct My Name" oval so the evaluation team can update it.
Exam day
Step 1010 What should my child bring, and what should they expect?
Bring: admit card, a 2B pencil, eraser and sharpener. No calculators or mobile phones are needed.
Format: the exam is a pen-and-paper, multiple-choice test with no negative marking, so there's no penalty for attempting every question. Depending on your child's class, it runs 30 to 45 questions across 45 to 60 minutes (25 minutes for iThinkers MiniVerse, LKG-UKG).
Two rounds: Round 1 is conducted in school for everyone. Students in Classes 5-10 who place in the global top 10%, or score above 75% in their category, qualify for Round 2 - either at an iThinkers centre or on a proctored online platform.
After the exam
Steps 11-1411 What are the reward & recognition categories?
Every registered student is recognised - no one goes home empty-handed:
| Category | Eligibility | Award |
|---|---|---|
| Global Topper | Highest score, per subject, per class | Gold Medal + Certificate |
| Global Top 1% | Percentile rank | Gold Certificate |
| Global Top 2-5% | Percentile rank | Silver Certificate |
| Global Top 6-10% | Percentile rank | Bronze Certificate |
| School Topper | Schools with 100+ papers | Gold, Silver & Bronze medals |
| Class Topper | 25+ papers in the same class | Gold, Silver & Bronze certificates |
| Every student | All registered participants | Participation Certificate |
Schools are also recognised, with a Best Principal Trophy, a Best Coordinator Certificate, and Class Teacher Appreciation Certificates.
12 Where can we watch a video explaining the score report?
Your child's report shows their score set against a benchmark - the global average, their school's average, and a red/yellow/green range per topic - plus question-level feedback and a "Next Steps" practice plan. The full report is always available at iThinkersOlympiad.com/login using the SAC ID.
13 My child has gaps in some topics - what now?
This is exactly what the benchmark is for. Open the "Areas for Improvement" section of the report to see which topics need attention, then use the matching practice sets on the portal - timed mocks for exam confidence, advanced sets to stretch further.
Remember: the goal is your child's own growth against their own expected level, not a race against other students. A weak topic today is simply this cycle's starting point for next time.
14 Who do we contact if we still have questions?
Your school's exam coordinator is the first point of contact for registration, admit card and logistics questions. For anything else, reach iThinkers directly:
